Reflection

Today we read the Gospel of John, in the gospel Jesus said to Philip and Thomas “Don’t be worried” he also said to them “I will go and prepare a room for you in my Father’s house” which means I will go to my father’s house and I will make room for everyone. My understanding of this gospel was that he will accept all those who come forth to him.

My prayer to the Holy Spirit

Gracious Spirit,
You have guided me in times of trouble and I thank you for that, you have helped me when I was lost and led me away when I had strayed away. I ask that you continue your powerful and helpful work so that we may continue to be faithful to God. I ask that you lead those who need your help the most especially those who are making the wrong choices in life.

Amen.

Religious Education

Today in Religious Education we are learning about the differences between animals and humans.  The class and I were given a question and the question was “What is something that makes us different from animals?”.  I learnt that when humans die their soul is lifted to heaven above.  But for animals their soul stops the same time their body dies. As the human body rots the soul still lives but as for the animal’s body the soul and body both dies. As the body dies the soul (spirit) carries on going.

God Strand

What does God want from me?
He wants loyalty, love and much more. He wants us to do the right thing and to never turn away from him. Talk to him everyday and never stop.

What's stopping me from what God wants to do?
Temptations, all the bad things that tempt me to do the wrong thing. Temptations are part of the obstacle of life.

Prayer

I have been learning in Religious Education different ways of prayer as in different ways to communicate to God.

Triduum

The Triduum involves the Eucharist, The Washing of the feet and The Veneration of the Cross.
The Eucharist is the body and blood of of Lord, Jesus, Christ.
The Washing of the feet is when Jesus washed his disciples feet to show that he was a servant of God.
The Veneration of the Cross is when everyone in the Catholic church respects the cross by kissing it.

Reflection on the Passion of Jesus

Today we celebrated the Passion, the Death and Resurrection of Jesus.  In our celebration today we had a drama through our liturgy.  It was a group of students and they were re-enacting the Passion of Jesus.  During their act in we had another few students narrating the story and for the rest of the school they had to sing. The audience enjoyed the liturgy very much and is looking forward for next year.

Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday is a day of Almsgiving, Fast and Pray. Ash Wednesday had come up and that day was today, St Pius X Catholic School was celebrating it with the community. We first started the mass off with the sign of the cross then moved to the 1st reading that was read by one of the students and her name was Genevieve.

Later On it was time to be blessed with the ashes on our forehead then we moved on to Prayers of the Faithful next, some of the students brang up their class’s foot that had what they would do during lent as a class. After that we had communion and had a blessing for the teachers then finished off with our final blessing.
